Founded in 1964, the University of Waikato (UW) is ranked highly among the eight public universities funded by the New Zealand government, and it is one of the most modern and innovative universities in New Zealand. There are over 12,000 students studying at UW, including over 2,000 international students from more than 70 countries. The University has four Divisions and offers a range of academic programmes from undergraduate to PhD level. UW is ranked highly globally in many disciplines, including Accounting and Finance, Business and Management, Communication and Media, Education and Computer Science. Waikato Management School is among the global top 1% and is accredited by AACSB, EQUIS and AMBA, the three respective accrediting institutions. At the moment only 100 business schools around the world have received triple crown accreditation.
